Okay, so I’m back. I have lost weight – not a good thing and I have gained back weight too. I do not want to diet, but I do want to be healthy and have healthy weight gain. I should only gain about 25-35 pounds. All of my pregnancies I have gained around 45-50. I don’t want to do that again. I’m older and I know the pounds will come off slower. I am going to count points. I am going to give myself extra points though honestly you are only supposed to be eating 300 more calories a day than a normal healthy diet. The baby doesn’t need that much. I am still going to do WW. Now that I feel better I feel I can count points without wanting to vomit. I am doing WW not to lose weight, but to gain a healthy amount of weight. I also am doing it because when I was doing it I ate more fruit and vegetables than I normally do and I drank more water. Now what pregnant woman couldn’t benefit from that?
Food For Today
1/2 cheese stick 1
Malt o meal 4
Milk 2
Cheese 5
Pickles 0
Graham cracker/milk 4
Spaghetti-Fazoli’s 9
Bread stick 2
Cereal/milk 2
Turkey soup 2
Cookies and frosting bunch
Carrots/dip 3
I was shooting for a total of 35 points. I can see from what I ate that if I cut out the junk, or limited it more and added more fruits then I would be eating quite well.
I walked for 30 minutes at a slow rate. It is my first time back in awhile and I can already feel stretching in my hips and pubic bone. I think I’m going to switch to swimming. I need to buy a suit that will fit my full figure tomorrow.
I’m excited to back and keeping tack of my life in my journal. Thanks for joining me.

My midwives & doctors always said the amount you gain is less important than the food you gain it on. If you gain it on healthy food, the weight will drop off.
This was true with my daughter, all I could really stand to eat was fruit, and I had dropped the weight (40 lbs) with no effort by 6 weeks post partum. My midwife with this last pregnancy had recommended eating 3000 calories a day of ONLY healthy food, including at least 100 grams of protien. That is so not easy to eat that much food and none of it empty calories. This is also comparable to what Brigitta Gallo (trainer for Jane Seymour when she had her twins) recommends for a single pregnancy. Her book is "Expecting Fitness" and its wonderful.
I actually read the other day that they are considering reducing the recommended weight gain for pregnancy to less than 25 lbs for a normal weight person! Yikes! My midwives always said you should gain at least 40 lbs for the healthiest babies-again as long as its gained on healthy food you will be fine.
Hey-I was just thinking about you this morning, and there you were on my blog! How are you doing?
I don't know where in Utah you are, but Jules Johnstun was my midwife with this baby I just miscarried 3 weeks ago. She is WONDERFUL. She knows a lot and has a great "bedside manner." Her email is placentasrus at yahoo dot com.
I thought Sister Becks talk was great! I can't believe people are criticizing it (and this is as a mama who worked outside the home last year) I didn't find anything offensive about it, even if I were still working. Heck, those talks are all pre-approved by the First Presidency, so if people have a problem with it, I say they might be having more of a problem with the Church as a whole, know what I mean? I hope those who are defensive about it are able to make the changes they need to so they can be happy with their lives.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I'm so glad to hear from you and hear that your pregnancy is still going well. That makes me so happy for you! *hugs*
Jen
