I'm finally facing the fact that I do need to be more specific with my plan so I'm thinking about Weight Watchers along with the Beck Diet Solution. My plan that I made up caused me to want to change the rules all the time. I talked to a friend this morning and she is doing it and I think I'm at the point now that I'm willing to give it a shot. I spoke with her after breakfast and that quickly I decided to start - right then. So today that is what I did and I ate way less than I normally do. I was tempted to snack, but then I thought, "That is not worth the points." It worked. Hopefully it will work in six weeks too. I will not attend meetings as I weigh-in at a friend's house and we talk about it all.
I mentioned it to hubby on the phone today and he didn't seem that excited about me doing WW. We didn't have time to talk about it at the moment, but we will tonight.I wonder if he thinks he'll have to eat diet stuff - he loves a good meal.
We have another vacation to Indiana coming up this Friday. That poses a problem. I think I will just try to be aware of what I'm eating and then write it when I have a private moment and calculate the points. I will try to make good choices and only eat the high fat things if they look really good and I really want them.
Oh and a bonus is that you have to have at least 2 dairy products a day for calcium.
Here is what I ate today
Breakfast - Burrito 7pts
Orange Juice 1/2 pt
Triscuits 1/2 pt
Lunch - Kashi Natural Frozen Lunch - 7pts
2c Watermelon - 2pts
Taste of Macaroni and Cheese - 1pt (not worth the point)
Dinner - chicken (5oz)6pts
salad 1pt
green beans 0pt
Total 25 points
Points Banked - O
exercise - 1 hour power pump class

Yes, looks like we have very similar stats. Like yourself, goal of 140, but ultimately, I would like to hover between 135-140, and if I go over 140, take notice and do something to get back under. I added you to my daily reads! Thanks for stopping by, always nice to meet people with similar goals/stats.
Hey, I've tagged you!
Hi,
Weight Watchers is an excellent program and combines well with the Beck habits you've been working on. Good luck. Did you find out what DH's reaction was about?

I've been doing WW since Dec 2, '06. My dh likes that it works for me and I can still have dinner with the family. Family meals are a HUGE deal for us (and not just because there are 8 of us around the table) so I have loved learning how to cook family favorites a little more healthfully...and how to eat the not as healthy ones in moderation.
Hope you like it.
Have you read "Ten Circles Upon the Pond" by Virginia Tranel? My absolute favorite book on mothering and homemaking and being a woman.
This is day three and so far so good. I'm going to take all my WW stuff to Indiana and calculate everything. I've noticed I turn down things simply because they are not worth the points or I'm too lazy to write them down or figure how much they are worth.
I talked to DH about WW and he said I didn't need to lose that much weight. That is all he said his concern was. I have been married to him for almost 9 years so I knew what most likely he was afraid of so I addressed those concerns and after he seemed fine.(When we were first married I got into a ultra healthy kick and only cooked really gross stuff. I think he's a little bit of a mental scar by that. Poor guy.) I assured him that we still will eat normal food. (Also he doesn't like me to be too skinny like I was after my first child.) I also assured him that I wasn't going to lose too much weight, but simply get healthy and stop the horrible eating habits I developed when I was pregnant with ds3. So after saying those things he was fine and pretty much realized it was no big deal and it would make me happy so he is totally fine with it. I think it just kind of shocked him because I've never really ever been on an official diet. He just had to wrap his mind around the idea.
Noelle, I haven't read that, but I will put it on my list. Thanks. I'm always looking for good books to read.
That sounds more doable!
weight watchers is such a good plan in my opinion, sounds like you are doing well on it,
and my hubbie liked it too, b/c i could still actually eat the same things as him, but watching my portions etc..
i have lost 28 pds on the program and now i am a lifetime member and have kept it off for , i think i am on month 4 of lifetime, great program!
