Hubby went with his brother, brother-in-law and dad for a guys weekend. They had a great time with a movie, paintball and golfing. I had the boys and we had quite a good time too with movies, outings, baseball and treats. I’m noticing as my boys are getting older how much easier they are when hubby is gone. I don’t dread it like I once did when they were a couple of years younger.
I stayed the same yesterday. I wrote a longer post about it, but just as I was about to post it 1yo climbed beneath the desk and turned off the main power switch. I’m not going to rewrite it all. The short story is that I need to reevaluate since last week I gained and this week I stayed the same. I know the eating plan will work, it’s just getting the will or desire or whatever it takes to decide that is what I will do. Maybe if I remind myself that it will get easier as I practice resisting going off plan, but sometimes it is overwhelming.
Not sure what will help at this point.

A couple of ideas:
- maybe a little more specific planning (see July3)
- maintaining on a 'holiday' ain't all bad
- exercise is going well for you, maybe your body is 'shifting'... remember, muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less room... how about taking your measurements? also, how about trying on a pair of pants that were 'snug' when you began... how do they fit? You might use them as another form of measurement (besides the scale).
- Look at your reasons for dropping weight... how many of them actually have to do with a smaller number on the scale? Be sure what you are measuring is what you want to work on.
- Bottom line... caloric deficit is what counts. It may be time to shift to FitDay, or some other program like it, where you can actually count and track the calories you are eating. I know your lifestyle doesn't really allow time for this, so maybe one more week of planning/monitoring and 'no choice' before getting worried.
- I sure know what you mean about all the lifestyle changes in eating seeming overwhelming... maybe identify the 1 or 2 that you think are your biggest challenges and focus on THOSE, measure THOSE, give yourself a couple of weeks and see what happens.
Keep working on the details...

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog (sorry it took me so long to respond). :) How awesome to devote your blog to health and homemaking!!! :)
You are right. Staying the same weight after a vacation is pretty good. I do need to give myself credit on more things. I will concentrate on that. Also, I'm seriously thinking about everything you mentioned above. I'm going to take this week and write down everything that I eat and remember "caloric deficit" is what counts. Limiting my food is really hard for me so I might start with increasing my exercise time. Worth a try for at least a couple of days.
I'm going to be in Indiana on my weigh-in day so I will miss it this week. Maybe if I mentally am not so restricting, my "teenage rebe" (as you say) will not come out and I will be more willing to eat healthier. Also exercise makes me feel healthy and I do believe that you eat the way you feel.
