Build Up Not Down
I recently visited a Christian Blog that I frequent. I was disappointed to see her pointing out things that reflect the Catholic Church in a bad light. I know she is trying to bring people to Christ, including Catholics. I am not Catholic, but I have a strong belief that the proper way, you could even say the fair way, to bring others to understand and ultimately share your beliefs is not by bringing up the faults of their religion. If you have the truth all you need to do is to teach that truth and something about it will swell the souls of those you are teaching and they will know that what they have been taught previously is false and they will know the truth. Falsehoods will manifest themselves. They cannot stand. So build yourself up instead of tearing them down.

Thats a great post. You are so right. I am LDS and a former Catholic. I read the blog you are talking about and agree with your point.
I just found your blog through Candy's "Day in the Life" post. Thank you for writing this.
I am a Catholic but my best friend is not, and much of my family on my mother's side is Church of the Bretheren. Most of my neighborhood is non-Catholic as well and I get along very well with all of these people! We concentrate on the things that we do agree with, like Love of the Lord and the Golden Rule.
What really hurts about Candy's blog is that she says a lot of things about the Catholic church that simply are not true, and then she does not allow anyone to say otherwise. It's one thing to disagree with what the Catholic church teaches, but it is quite another to misrepresent it.
Anyway, thanks for your gracious post.
Thanks for your comments Elena and for stopping by. This is something I feel very strongly about. I do believe if people will study, they will come to know the truth.
