Pink Chili

This is what we had tonight.

1 can white beans
2 cans red kidney beans
1c onion
2t garlic
1 can green chilis, drained
8oz shredded chicken
2-14oz cans chicken broth
onion salt, salt, chili powder to taste

mix all together and warm up
serve with corn chips, sour cream and cheese
This is call pink chili because it isn't quite white chili, but it isn't quite the regular red chili.

I took the older boys to a movie. G took S to Wal-mart and Sam's Club.

G and I both like to cook, but we are so busy that this year we had to buy the pies. :(

I took the dog today for an early morning walk. It was COLD. I went 30 minutes and two of those minutes I was jogging. I'm working on running more, but I'm going to add on slowly. I don't want to injur myself by starting too quickly.

October Tid-Bits

Buddies

I found this picture when I was putting the pictures on the computer. One of the kids took a picture of me while I was resting.

Porter is so sweet with our cat, Chelsea. Here he is sleeping with her and his build a bear frog that is named Porter. Since we temporarily have three bedrooms, Porter and Christian are in our room until everything is fixed. So Porter sleeps in a sleeping bag. Often I will find him sleeping with his favorite stuffed animals crammed in there with him. Their heads are always poking out like they are really sleeping. Chelsea usually joins the party.

There is a small canyon behind our house. We took some friends hiking up there. One little boy was nervous to climb a steep hill. Christian took the dog's leash off, fastened it on the boys belt loop. He then proceeded to pull him up. The poor kid learned the true meaning of wedgie that day.

Meteor Seen Round the State

Our Experience with the meteor...
My husband played basketball until late into the night. He got home and said his prayers. The second he looked up he saw a bright flash behind the blinds of the window. His first thought was that someone was behind our house and their headlights flashed on the window. (We live against a mountain with no backyard neighbors and a fire access road lining the back of our yard.) He quickly looked out the window and no one was there. It was the fastest get away ever. That made him so worried. He spent the next 1/2 hour sure that there was an intruder trying to get into our house or doing something weird. He COULD NOT figure it out. It wasn't until the news the next morning that the mystery was solved. We laugh now because he is not usually the type to get scared.

Warrick's Pronunciation

Warrick says washes like wasses. Words with "sh" he pronounces with just a regular "s" sound. Like should is sould. I love it.

Stafford - 19 Months

Stafford's favorite things all start with a "B".
Here is how he says them.
"bi" for binkie.
"bu" for book and bath and bottle
"bl,l,l" for blanket

He still loves loves horses and will look at horse books for a long time. He brings the book to me, sits on my lap and leafs through the pages.

He likes to chase and be chased and has recently found that if he takes off his pants and diaper I will chase him.
